Connections is the one of the most popular New York Times word games that's captured the public's attention. The game is all about finding the "common threads between words." And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight and each new set of words gets trickier and trickier—so we've served up some hints and tips to get you over the hurdle.

If you just want to be told today's puzzle, you can jump to the end of this article for today's Connections solution. But if you'd rather solve it yourself, keep reading for some clues, tips, and strategies to assist you.

The NYT's latest daily word game has become a social media hit. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu with helping to create the new word game and bringing it to the publications' Games section. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common.

Each puzzle features 16 words and each grouping of words is split into four categories. These sets could comprise of anything from book titles, software, country names, etc. Even though multiple words will seem like they fit together, there's only one correct answer.

If a player gets all four words in a set correct, those words are removed from the board. Guess wrong and it counts as a mistake—players get up to four mistakes until the game ends.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share the results with your friends on social media.

If you like playing daily word games like Wordle, then Hurdle is a great game to add to your routine.

There are five rounds to the game. The first round sees you trying to guess the word, with correct, misplaced, and incorrect letters shown in each guess. If you guess the correct answer, it'll take you to the next hurdle, providing the answer to the last hurdle as your first guess. This can give you several clues or none, depending on the words. For the final hurdle, every correct answer from previous hurdles is shown, with correct and misplaced letters clearly shown.

An important note is that the number of times a letter is highlighted from previous guesses does necessarily indicate the number of times that letter appears in the final hurdle.

It's unlikely that many people had a robot vacuum with a whole-ass arm on their CES 2025 bingo card. But alas, Roborock gave us one: the Roborock Saros Z70, which costs $2,599 regularly. That's steep but expected, considering the current high-end Roborocks with no robotic limbs go for over $1,500-ish (a few hundred less if they're on sale).

Where can you buy the Roborock Saros Z70?

If you're in the market for a new robot vacuum — and are open to buying one on the more expensive end of the spectrum — you still have plenty of time to decide whether the arm thing is overkill even for you. The Roborock Saros Z70 began shipping in April 2025, and is currently available for purchase at Amazon, Best Buy, and Roborock's website. Roborock's site is the only place that has sported the Saros Z70's first big discount: It was $1,000 off for a few days in August and September.

What's so special about the Roborock Saros Z70?

The Roborock Z70 goes past the small obstacle avoidance technology that has become a navigational staple in the best robot vacuums, instead, bulldozing into obstacle removal technology. It performs such with a robotic OmniGrip arm that unfolds out of the top of the robot vacuum to grab the obstacle claw machine-style, and drops it in a nearby designated area. The live demo at CES 2025 showcased the Z70 putting socks into a basket.

I have since had the Saros Z70 in my home for several months, and was disappointed (but not surprised) that the robotic arm doesn't make your life much easier. The arm's pickup capabilities were advertised to cover four different types of obstacles and must weigh under 300 grams: socks, paper, small towels, and lightweight shoes (no pet toys yet). The arm does technically work sometimes — I've witnessed it successfully pick up sandals and socks — but other times, it completely misses or ignores obstacles altogether. The half-baked innovation had good intentions, but for now, is just another robot vacuum that is trying to do too much.

People more swayed by practicality than a hit-or-miss high-tech feature might find the bigger grab here to be the Z70's incredible 22,000 Pa of suction power. That's 12,000 Pa more powerful than the Roborock Qrevo Master, my favorite overall robot vacuum of 2024 that cleans with 10,000 Pa, and also beats the suction power of any Roomba I've tested by a long shot.

Roborock also announced two more flagship robot vacuum and mop combos in the Saros line that are armless, making each a much more digestible price to the average household. Since this story's first writing in January, I was able to test both the Saros 10 and Saros 10R at home for several months. Both retail for $1,599.99 (in line with my original price prediction) but have been on sale for $1,299.99 toward the end of summer 2025. As it stands, I think the Roborock Saros 10R is the best robot vacuum you can buy currently.

Rather than relying on the rotating laser tower atop many robot vacuums alone to assess walls and furniture in the room, the Roborock Saros 10R maneuvers using dual-light 3D Time-of-Flight technology and AI-powered RGB cameras. That's fancy talk for more meticulous 3D mapping of your home and more precise detection of small obstacles that may be lying in the cleaning path — so even without the arm, this is still a big step up in the autonomous navigation department. The AI itself is also upgraded for more accurate, ever-improving recognition of the trickiest obstacles, including small toys and loose, unfolded cables. It just can't clean under them like the Z70, though that might be a no-brainer sacrifice depending on the price difference between the two.

Cleaning-wise, the Saros 10R cleans with 20,000 Pa of suction power, while the similar Saros 10 cleans with the same 22,000 Pa suction power as the Saros Z70. But to me, the biggest difference between the Saros 10 and Saros 10R is actually related to mopping — I compared both models head-to-head in my apartment to help you pick one.

This year's Apple event is just around the corner, but we're already getting a potential sneak peek at what's to come.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning on launching an AI search tool, deeply integrated with its voice assistant Siri, known internally in the company as World Knowledge Answers.

The "answer engine" is Apple's attempt at its own version of what OpenAI and Perplexity are doing with their AI search tools. 

Using large language models, Apple's AI search tool will allow users to look up information across the web with text, photos, videos, and "local points of interest."  The AI search tool will provide users with the relevant information via an AI-generated summary from an overhauled Siri voice assistant. Along with its Siri integration, Apple plans to also integrate the tool in its Safari web browser as well as its Spotlight search tool on iOS devices.

However, while Apple is reportedly working with OpenAI to bring the latest GPT-5 model to Apple Intelligence in iOS 26, the company is turning to Google to help with its AI search project, at least according to Bloomberg's well-sourced Apple forecaster Mark Gurman.

Bloomberg notes that the iPhone maker entered into an agreement recently to test out the search giant's latest Gemini AI model with its Siri voice assistant. Interestingly, news of this deal comes after a federal judge barred Google from entering exclusive search deals with companies like Apple.

A major AI update on the way for Siri?

In its current form, Apple's voice assistant Siri appears extremely outdated when compared to its AI counterparts like OpenAI's ChatGPT. Siri is left providing basic information to users while competitors can provide longer, more deeply researched, back-and-forth responses in a conversational tone. 

Since Apple announced its own AI suite of tools, Apple Intelligence, a long-awaited Siri overhaul has been planned, but has yet to come to fruition.

That very well may change soon, as Apple is in the midst of rebuilding Siri for the AI era.

While the current Siri is built upon Apple's own technology, the company is looking towards utilizing third-party AI models for the new version of its voice assistant. Bloomberg reports that Apple is leaning towards utilizing Google's Gemini model, which would run on Apple's own servers, for the summarization of Siri's output to users. In addition, Apple has reportedly been utilizing Gemini, Anthropic PBC’s Claude, and its own in-house models for summarization and AI search.

As Bloomberg reports, Anthropic's request of $1.5 billion annually from Apple might push the company to go with Google instead.

The new Siri still isn't scheduled to debut for some time, though. However, Apple's upcoming September event could include a first look at the new AI-powered Siri.

In 2022's The Black Phone, Ethan Hawke terrified audiences as the masked kidnapper known as "the Grabber." Now, he's back to do it all over again in Blumhouse's Black Phone 2.

Viewers of the first Black Phone know that the film ended with — spoiler alert! — the Grabber's death. But horror fans should know better by now that no horror antagonist is ever truly dead. Especially not when that antagonist is at the center of a box office hit like The Black Phone.

So how does the Grabber come back in Black Phone 2? Apparently, by emulating another horror icon: Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger.

Just like dear old Freddy, the Grabber can now attack kids in their dreams. His target is Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), the younger sister of The Black Phone's protagonist Finney (Mason Thames). Gwen receives disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at Alpine Lake winter camp, and she enlists Finney to help her investigate. At the camp, they find an unsettling family connection to the Grabber. They also learn their tormentor has grown even stronger in death, resulting in some terrifying ghostly fight scenes in the trailer above. Can Gwen and Finney take down the Grabber once and for all?

The Black Phone director Scott Derrickson returns to helm Black Phone 2. He and C. Robert Cargill co-wrote the screenplay, adapted from the short story by Joe Hill. The film also stars Demián Bichir, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies, and Arianna Rivas.

While Interview with the Vampire fans anxiously await the show's third season (now titled The Vampire Lestat), AMC has another spooky treat in store for us: Talamasca: The Secret Order. The series joins Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches in AMC's Immortal Universe, based on the works of author Anne Rice.

Talamasca's titular secret society devotes itself to keeping tabs on the supernatural, from vampires and witches to ghosts and ghouls. However, Talamasca promises a much deeper dive into the society's inner workings.

The series centers on NYU law school graduate Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton), who meets the mysterious Helen (Elizabeth McGovern). She recognizes that he has a rare talent: He can hear things others cannot. That ability makes him the perfect candidate to be a Talamasca agent.

It's not long before Guy is thrown into a supernatural spy thriller, one that leads him to cross paths with Interview with the Vampire fan favorite Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Now a vampire himself, Daniel warns Guy that the Talamasca is using him. What else would you expect from an organization whose motto is "We watch, and we are always there"?
